Chest Binder Comparison: T-Kingdom vs. Underworks

Okay so i thought i’d do a quick write up comparing the binders i have: the 1700 longshirt from T-Kingdom, and Underworks Tri-top. Just in case there’s any trans guys out there that need advice/ cant decide/ are looking for a their 1st binder or an upgarde etc.

T-Kingdom’s 1700 longshirt:

This was the 1st binder i ever got, slightly more expensive than Underworks (mostly due to shipping as i am in the UK) The binding effect was average, I’d rate it 6/10.

However, for me, it got annoying after a while, the long shirt part to tuck into trousers kept coming un-tucked, it was far too hot in the summer also. The actual binding part stopped a few inches above the navel, so the stomach had no pressure on it. Although the diaphragm did, which caused discomfort when eating and sometimes breathing.

Plus you couldnt wear just that and a t-shirt, due to the face the edging around the top, shoulders, and the back was clearly visible through clothing, so usually i wore that, a tank top, plus an undershirt, with my main top over all that. Ridiculous.

But an advantage of it was you pulled it over your head with great ease, and fastened the velcro at the side, so you could adjust the level of binding, and if throughout the day you started to feel uncomfortabble (chest pains, uncomfort when eating, or just general binding uncomfort) you could just nip to the loo and loosen it a bit.

I got mine in a size small (n white) as i am chest size 29/30

Delivery rate (to the UK) was very good, only took 4/5 working days. SIgnature not required unless you want it.

Underworks Tri-top:

Second binder, much better pesonally. I’d rate this one 9/10

The reason i found it better is there is no discomfort compared to the T-Kingdom one, i dont even notice i’m wearing it half the time, and more often than not i can wear it for a good 12 hours+ whereas T-Kingdom I’d couldnt wear for more than 10hours (the longest i binded for with that one was around 50 hours, left me with deep marks down the sides of my chest, pain when breathing and back ache) Not as much pressure on the diaphragm either.

There’s no visible line through clothing where the binder is, and to the touch you wouldnt be able to tell (if a friend or someone were to pat you on the chest or whatever)

Much cooler to wear in hot weather.

However with this one you can’t adjust it, but with the level of comfort i experience thats not really a problem. It’s also quite difficult to get on and off, which could cause embarrasment if you need help, but it does get easier over time with experience.

I got this one in an extra small. Cheaper shipping fee, same delivery rate, same signature option.

Aso before i had the money to buy a binder i had self made ones ( i couldnt get on with bandages and safety pins, tape and everything, it ended up falling off halfway through the day) But i went out and got a pack of womens tights, thick nylony ones, cut the legs of at about thigh length, and cut a hole in the crotch, pull it over your head, and place arms into the leg holes, then the thickest part where it’s supposed to go over the hips/stomach comes down over your chest. I’d wear that with a few layers of t-shirts- not ideal for hot weather, but did the trick for the time i needed.

Hope this helps :)
